On 6 September WAHU launched a fundraising campaign through the American platform Kickstarter. The campaign was immediately successful: in less than twelve hours the target of €20,000 was reached and exceeded. 180 pairs of shoes have already been booked, half of them in the United States.
The operation aims to test the market’s receptivity for a highly innovative product and to verify the marketing metrics for launching on international markets.

«After working on e-mobility for years and studying walking habits of urban workers, we came up with the idea of developing the most comfortable footwear to walk all day, that is heavily customizable to the user», says Cristina Russi, co-Founder, and experienced e-mobility innovation manager with more than ten projects worked on.
WAHU shoes have been designed for the dynamic urban citizens and have become the sneakers with 3-in-1 versatility: providing the benefits of heavily cushioned shoes, the agility of running shoes, and the adaptability of everyday footwear. Of course, being an Italian brand, great attention has been given to the style and to the quality of materials of the shoes.
All this is made possible thanks to the patented technology w-lift™, which uses airflows and their pressure to create a layer of air between the feet and the ground. It is made of a pneumatic system integrated into the sole, sensors, and machine learning algorithms. With the connected WAHU App, the users can interact with the shoes and learn more about their walking habits, at each step of the way.
