For the first time at Futura Expo it is possible to try out the electric and autonomous chassis of e-Shock

On the occasion of the Sustainability Expo scheduled from 2 to 4 of October in Brescia, e-Shock makes its Rob.Y available: a rolling chassis, developed in collaboration with Streparava, which represents a perfect example of technologies supporting the mobility of the future.

On October 2, 3 and 4 in Brescia, on the occasion of Futura Expo, for the first time it is possible to board Rob.Y, the electric and autonomous chassis made by e-Shock, in collaboration with Streparava and e-Novia.

It is a robotic and digital chassis, designed to make professional vehicles autonomous, from road sweepers to agricultural vehicles, and to create advanced mobility solutions.

It is equipped with a level 4 autonomous driving system – it does not require the presence of a driver on board – and is able to move freely within regulated (geo-fenced) routes, through LiDAR technology (Light Detection And Ranging). It is also able to detect obstacles and react quickly by stopping near other vehicles or pedestrians, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and safety.

Rob.Y is based on the Dynamic Cortex system, a set of e-Shock solutions able to connect the driver (or the autonomous driving system) with the vehicle, guaranteeing the robotization of the vehicle’s dynamic systems, i.e. traction, braking, steering and suspension, through a complete control by wire. It allows for an extremely flexible driving mode: from simplified control of the vehicle, with the use of a joystick by the driver, to remote driving with the driver not on board, up to fully autonomous driving.

Mobility has been experiencing a real revolution for several years now, driven by drivers that concern multimodality, safety, sustainability and quality of life in general. This revolution is enabled by current technological innovations in progress, such as autonomous driving, less polluting propulsion systems and new generation connectivity.

These changes not only affect cars but have an evident impact, already today, on all vehicles, including professional and agricultural ones.

In a market where high investment and research and development costs are considered the main constraints, the pre-validated solutions of vehicular and electric robotics will also allow manufacturers of professional vehicles, characterized by limited volumes compared to global players, to face the technological transition that would otherwise be unsustainable in terms of financial and human resources.

By offering the most flexible and integrated mechatronic solutions for vehicle performance control, safety and robotization, e-Shock reduces vehicle development time and costs. It does so through a portfolio of sensors and advanced mobility solutions capable of managing the dynamics of vehicles with very variable centers of gravity (just think of agricultural vehicles or excavators).

To date, the company supplies its technology to over 140,000 vehicles of different types: racing cars, motorcycles, agricultural vehicles, road sweepers, commercial trucking and leisure vehicles. In particular, e-Shock offers professional vehicle manufacturers access to pre-validated products that can help them make the transition to autonomous and electric mobility, reducing their investments and time-to-market and helping them achieve a more sustainable transport ecosystem.
