HiRide Sterra: the revolutionary fork for gravel bikes

Finally, the specific fork for gravel bikes, which introduces the HiRide “invisible” suspension, will be officially presented at Eurobike, the international fair in Frankfurt dedicated to the cycling industry.

Sterra is born: the first fork with invisible suspension integrated into the head tube, specifically designed for gravel bikes by HiRide, a company of the e-Novia Group specialized in the production of miniaturized and adaptive components for the world of gravel cycling and all-road.

Sterra generates a new value for a fork, significantly increasing performance and the smoothness of pedaling. Thus, Sterra allows you to pedal longer, go farther, and guarantee unprecedented comfort and control. Not only that! It allows the mounting of tires up to 54 millimeters and the use of the stems for the transport of loads. It is integrated with HiRide AR, the super-compact, high-performance, low-maintenance single-shock front suspension optimized for gravel cycling.

If gravel bikes are chosen for their versatility, Sterra expands their use, allowing you to tackle routes of various kinds and complexity with ease. Until now, the only suspension forks for the gravel segment have been those of mountain-bike derivation, which add additional weight to the wheel, do not allow you to add bottle cages or other accessories on the stems and have invasive implications on the design of the bike.

HiRide sets a new standard, both in design, as in technology and innovation. With Sterra, the suspension becomes an integral part of the frame, hidden in the head tube, while the black fork is designed to fit with style on the bike.

«The gravel segment is growing strongly and, consequently, the suspension market for these bikes is also experiencing a phase of great ferment», comments Giulio Ferretti, General Manager of HiRide. «This trend, born in the USA, was developed to take road bikes off-road after having adapted their wheels and tires. HiRide’s innovation has been transformed into a clear product and market strategy: our technologies increase the performance, control capacity and comfort levels of an emerging market segment, which refers to a “road” customer target, not very inclined to MTB-derived suspensions and unwilling to make stylistic compromises in the appearance of the bike ».

After specializing in the creation of adaptive and miniaturized electronic suspensions in the racing sector, the HiRide engineering team has progressed in precision mechanics, innovating the components first with their AR suspensions and now with the new suspension fork that will be officially presented to the market during Eurobike 2022, the Frankfurt event dedicated to the cycling industry.

«We believe that the demand for forks and suspension will grow rapidly due to two phenomena: the growth of e-gravel (electric gravel bikes) and bike-packing (long-distance cycling with materials loaded on the bike). We are aware that many more exciting projects will arise from the collaboration with bike manufacturers. Just as the after-market sale of our products will represent, in the future we are building, an opportunity that we want all gravel bike enthusiasts to seize», concludes Giulio Ferretti.
