A joint investment to encourage innovation: CDP Venture Capital SGR, the national fund set up with the aim of making venture capital a cornerstone of the country’s economic development, and e-Novia have chosen to make a co-investment in three companies in the Enterprises Factory’s Augmented Human area: Existo, WAHU and Weart.

The three Enterprises have been selected to take part in the AccelerORA!  programme with which the CDP Venture Capital Accelerator Fund supports the development of companies focused on disruptive technologies with high growth potential, operating in the biggest sectors for the growth of Italy’s industrial fabric.

The three e-Novia Enterprises funded by the programme bring to the market solutions for enhancing human potential in rehabilitation, adaptive solutions for active gait control in fashion wearables and immersive solutions that enable the sense of touch in virtual and augmented reality.

Existo has developed Sixto, a wearable technology for manipulating objects and materials, with the aim of restoring independence and a better quality of life to people with reduced hand mobility. Sixto brings the person back to correct motor habits and redefines the concept of “rehabilitation”. In what way? Through a portable device, available for every moment of daily life, according to the Limitless Rehab concept, which guarantees access to therapy anywhere and anytime, promoting a correct lifestyle and zeroing the social gap.

WAHU has created the ultimate wearable: a shoe with a sole that adapts to changes in both the external environment (in terms of soil, temperature and humidity) and the person’s dynamic state. Thanks to a system of sensors, micro-compressors and proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms, Wahu is able to recognise the user’s walk, analyse foot pressure, prevent falls and diagnose any postural defects.

Weart has revolutionised the way people interact with their environment by digitising the sense of touch for an unparalleled immersive experience. Weart produces portable and wearable devices that enable the haptic perception of physical and virtual objects. The tactile experience reproduces the pressure of touch, the vibration of the touched object and its temperature. In this way, multimedia content, augmented reality and virtual reality finally have access to the sense of touch.

«We are proud to have CDP Venture Capital as a co-investment partner in the strategic area of Augmented Human and in technologies with a strong social impact», commented Vincenzo Russi. «This is further confirmation of how e-Novia today represents an asset for economic development and innovation in Italy, in line with the strategic priority of supporting the growth of technology sectors that are fundamental for Italy and Europe».
