Fit the grip
WAHU is an Italian frontrunner brand, crafting fashion wearables that can adapt themselves to users, to their unique lifestyle and their daily changes, making it possible "to stay in the here and now".
WAHU‘s first product is a shoe: it can adapt its sole morphology to the changes happening both in the external environment (such as the terrain, the temperature or the humidity rate) and in the dynamic state of the user, in order to create a “posture-driven” traction control during walking. The sole configuration is ensured by a series of smart sensors, a micro-compressor and WAHU Artificial Intelligence algorithms. WAHU has created an extraordinary walking experience, enhancing safety and comfort at maximum levels. On top of product core functionality, WAHU shoes can create innovative services for the user: from gait analysis-based identification to foot pressure analysis, from fall prevention to postural disease diagnosis.
How does it work?
WAHU active sole can change its morphology thanks to a series of interconnected chambers, with a particular “bellow structure”, filled by air through a miniaturized electro-plunger, able to be locked and unlocked. Thanks to its adaptability, WAHU can make the difference in scenarios where sudden changes in grip and cushioning are required, such as the industrial environment, the urban frost or the workout field.
Today, thanks to an investment of €650,000 from both private and public investors (among which also Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Innovation Fund) and together with its Italian craftsmanship partners, WAHU is facing the industrialization and go-to-market process. WAHU aims to become the first global player in the world of digital shoes within the end of 2023.
