A bike tour of the hills around Siena took place to test products by Blubrake and HiRide, subsidiaries of e-Novia’s ‘Factory of Businesses’. The event held on 29th April 2017 saw the participation of the Italy national road cycling team coach, Davide Cassani, who – after speaking about technologies with the CEO of e-Novia Vincenzo Russi, the Blubrake championFabio Todeschini and the HiRide supervisor Enrico Silani – tested the innovative systems with the CEO of the Dompé Group and board director of e-Novia, Eugenio Aringhieri.

The bikes were fitted with invisible technology capable of optimizing the braking systems and monitoring the suspensions in the best possible way. In the first case, the Sixth Sense system by Blubrake allows braking to be optimized in all road conditions, whereas algorithms can predict any potentially very hazardous events with the utmost precision and speed, such as front wheel blockage and overturning of the bike. In the second case, the HiRide Electronic Suspension System monitors the road and understands the dynamics of the bike, adjusting the frame to suit all types of terrain, from asphalt to the most uneven surface, in less than 20 ms.

“Cycling on the legendary setts of the Paris-Roubaix route or on the straight stretch of asphalt of the Padana Plain are two very different athletic experiences that involve the muscles, comfort, control of the bike, speed and strength,” points out the CEO of e-Novia, Vincenzo Russi. We want to give cyclists the opportunity to have these experiences while in full control of their bike.”

“They are two essential innovations – adds Davide Cassani – that regard safety and comfort. HiRide and Blubrake are definitely important systems for those who want an improved bike.”
