Production value of over 8.4 million euros with an increase in revenue of 51% compared to the previous year, and an increase of 124% in terms of EBITDA, with net profits growing for the fourth consecutive year. These are just some of the most important figures in e-Novia’s 2018 financial statement, approved on Wednesday the 17th of April at a meeting of the Enterprises Factory’s shareholders. In light of the growth in the group’s international presence, its 27 entrepreneurial initiatives, its profitability and investor interest, a working group has been set up which has studied and outlined the pathway towards listing e-Novia on the stock market. The shareholders’ meeting also nominated Michele Scannavini, ex-chairman of ICE as the new chairman in place of the outgoing chairman Umberto Simonelli Silva.

«I’ve believed in the e-Novia project ever since it was set up» declared the new chairman Michele Scannavini, who continued: «this gem of a company that I consider unique in Italy has three strong points: the business model which combines high technology and the country’s manufacturing sector; the capacity to not only generate companies but entrepreneurs, young entrepreneurs with great expertise who in this way have the chance to choose to carry out high value projects in Italy; the calibre of the people who created this project.»

At the centre of the e-Novia shareholders’ meeting was the approval of the 2018 financial statement which demonstrated progress in all the financial indicators, which today stand above the national benchmark. The strengthening of ties with universities, research centres and leading companies on one hand, combined with the development of the 27 companies in e-Novia’s portfolio, guided by rigorous governance, on the other, have allowed e-Novia to confirm the exceptional growth trend which for the year 2018 saw a total production value of 8,406,101 euros, thus registering an increase of 51% compared to the previous year. E-Novia’s capacity to create value through its own characteristic management was also confirmed, as was the increase in EBITDA of 579,008 euros (+124% compared to 2017, therefore more than double the previous year), and a result of the capacity to dispense its services efficiently through rigorous planning, and the support of all the tools and techniques of the Enterprises Factory to sustain the processes of control and management of the ‘production lines’.

«The 2018 that we are leaving behind was a year of overwhelming participation, of profound experimentation, and growth over and above the already ambitious expectations» declared Vincenzo Russi, CEO of e-Novia, who continued: «We have produced rigorously certified positive results, with a value of revenue, deriving from engineering services for corporate clients and for the companies in our portfolio, which has grown by 51% compared to the previous year and by 4% compared to our industrial plan, and our EBITDA which has grown by 124% compared to 2017 and by 80% on the industrial plan. 2018, the year which laid the foundations for this leap forward, was our fourth year. Four years which have made us stronger, knowing that we are unique in Italy: a technology manufacturer and provider, not a technology consumer. Unique because of our capacity to bring Italian manufacturing culture into the digital world; unique because of the fact that we represent a place of experimentation with future manufacturing models.»

The growth in human capital in 2018 was also significant: 64% of the Enterprise Factory’s employees are now aged under 30, while another 24% are aged between 31 and 40. 95% of employees possess a master’s degree, while one in four (24%) possess a PhD. The beginning of 2019 has already confirmed the positive trend outlined in 2018 and the company has obtained hugely important results. The Financial Times selected e-Novia among the thousand fastest-growing European companies of the last three years. The Milanese company registered a record growth rate of 506% between 2014 and 2017. Results which meant that e-Novia was once again in the ranking published on the first of March by the British financial-economic newspaper. Considering Italian companies in the hi-tech sector and excluding e-commerce companies, e-Novia is in the top three fastest-growing high-tech companies in Italy.

Regarding the companies in e-Novia’s portfolio, the growth trends in terms of product evolution, market presence and revenue have been confirmed. Yape, the self-driving robot for last-mile delivery which in January carried out its first delivery in Japan thanks to a partnership with Japan Post, obtained the prestigious German Design Award. e-Shock has agreed an important partnership (and 6 million euros of investment) with the Streparava group for the development of new self-driving platforms.
