The present as a solid launch pad. A shared vision and a consolidated structure to increasingly focus on international markets and new collaborations: e-Novia, the Enterprise Factory is ready to enter its next phase. E-Novia unveiled its near future during “FlashForward“: a meeting organized last September 25 in its headquarters.

The strongest signal of the will to start a new phase came right from the conversation in which Vincenzo Russi, CEO of e-Novia, announced the next listing on the stock exchange market.
“In four years, we have raised 65 million euros, mainly from Italian entrepreneurs. To continue our growth, another 75 million are needed in a much shorter time” Russi explained. “The stock exchange listing decision comes from the difficulty to access venture capital and private equity for young and small businesses in Italy. E-Novia wants to become the first technology manufacturer that aims to raise capital”.

Federico Faggin, entrepreneur and famous inventor of the microchip, spoke about the theme of capital raising in the following conversation with Vincenzo Russi. “A company needs to create a network of innovation that demonstrates its capabilities” said Faggin. “This network enables the possibility to organically attract capital while growing”.

During the same panel, both Luca Peyrano, CEO of ELITE and Raffaele Jerusalmi – CEO of Borsa Italiana S.p.A. commented positively about the choice of going public. Jerusalmi has underlined the importance of having a distinctive presence in international scenarios: “It is necessary to increase both the resources and the capital, in addition to the development of the companies in international markets and in rewarding sectors. An international visibility is essential to attract international capital”.

“FlashForward” has represented the occasion to talk about new projects and promote the debate on innovation with guests from the world of science, research and business. The guests of the following panels addressed the three developing fields of e-Novia: “Collaborative Mobility”, “Humanized Machines” and “Augmented Human”.

The panel on “Collaborative Mobility” has predictably generated a series of very cautious hypotheses on the feasibility and timing of services and solutions for vehicular mobility – starting from self-driving cars. But the panel was also an opportunity to reflect on how to improve performance, comfort and safety of the vehicles along with the necessary infrastructure. Federico Faggin’s considerations on the issues faced by the Google Car and about the initial disastrous choices of Elon Musk in Tesla’s production, have introduced the discussion on the correct approach to “Humanized Machines“.”Humanized Machines” can actually really increase efficiency and flexibility in factories and industrial environments, paying high level of attention on the relationship between technology and conscience (“Consciousness allows us to do what a machine cannot do: avoiding an automatic response to sensory signals”). The last panel engaged the audience about the “Augmented Human” and the possibility of helping human beings to enhance their perception and their abilities, but considering and bearing in mind individual differences and needs.

The FlashForward event showed once more how the Enterprise Factory process aims to transform Research in Products, Researchers in Entrepreneurs and Startups in Enterprises. This unique approach is also working in synergy with a continuous focus on the latest debates about groundbreaking technologies to attract leading innovators, capitals and new industry partners.
